
Mariah Williams

Mariah Williams is an urban planner, storyteller, and public scholar committed to amplifying the histories and stories of Black communities. She founded Homeplace, a space for public and community scholars, and practitioners to share visions for just, equitable, and nurturing communities. Her work has been featured by Next City and the Third Wave Urbanism podcast. A “pracademic,” Mariah bridges theory and practice in her teaching and work. She has taught at VCU and the University of Richmond, focusing on urban planning, housing, and health. Mariah earned her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Richmond and a Master’s in Urban Planning from VCU.
