Doctoral Student
Tayler N. Shreve is a professor at the University of the District of Columbia, where she teaches courses in statistics, justice issues, and research methods. Her scholarship centers on juvenile justice, with a particular focus on disproportionate minority treatment and the transfer of youth to the adult criminal justice system. Grounded in intersectionality and critical race theory, her work examines how race, gender, and class shape decision-making within juvenile courts and institutional settings. Tayler has presented at leading national conferences and published on topics including sentencing disparities, probation outcomes, and systemic inequality. She holds an M.A. and B.A. in Criminology from the University of South Florida. Beyond academia, Tayler has served as a case manager, data scientist, and policy researcher, experiences that inform her applied, community-engaged approach to teaching and scholarship. Her work aims to advance equity, accountability, and justice for system-involved youth.
