The County of Henrico is currently accepting applications for Summer 2020 Interns: 

Energy Analyst Intern II

Closing Date: Monday, March 9, 2020.

This is a paid Energy Analyst Intern II position in the Department of General Services working for the County's Energy Manager.

Planning Intern II/III

Closing date:  Monday, March 16, 2020.

This is a paid internship for the Department of Planning for the Summer of 2020 for a current graduate level student or a college level student (rising junior or senior) pursuing a degree in a field relevant to internship. The rate of pay for a graduate level student is $14.68 per hour. The rate of pay for an undergraduate student is $12.76 per hour. Hiring selection and level is dependent on the qualification of the successful applicant and the needs of the County for this position at time of hire.

Summer 2020 Advocacy Internship - ACLU of Virginia (PAID)

As an intern with ACLU of Virginia Advocacy Team, you will work with ACLU-VA policy specialists to advance our agenda across a wide variety of subject matters.  Summer Advocacy interns will collect data and conduct analysis and research in criminal legal areas to inform future strategies and tactics. Interns may also engage with community members, create educational materials, and assist in the preparation of reports or other advocacy documents.

The NCIS Honors Internship Program is now accepting intern applications. Internships are for a minimum of 18 weeks and a minimum of 16 hours a week for each internship cycle.

American Geographical Society Scholar-Internship Program

The American Geographical Society (AGS) is accepting applications to its Scholar-Internship Program at its headquarters in Brooklyn, New York for the upcoming Spring semester. We are hoping you will spread the word about this dynamic internship opportunity within your department and school network. 

We are seeking students interested in gaining non-profit experience with one of the oldest geographic organizations in the nation. Students will gain skills in social media, marketing, writing, and blogging by working with AGS staff on various projects and initiatives this Spring. Research Assistant Opportunity at CURA

The Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA) at VCU is looking to hire a student researcher who is skilled in Excel and ArcGIS to perform research tasks involving internet data search, data cleaning and management, geodatabase editing, and map production. Students who have the ability to conduct literature reviews and write simple narratives around the findings, with some knowledge of report production using InDesign will be preferred.

Research Analyst - Cities and Neighborhoods (Metropolitan Housing & Communities

The research analyst is responsible for working with senior researchers and research teams in successfully executing advanced research tasks. This position is aligned to the Cities and Neighborhoods practice area within the Metro Center. This practice area focuses on policy topics related to understanding neighborhoods and cities, with a focus on people’s wellbeing and racial and economic equity across neighborhoods. Our group collaborates closely with governments and practitioners through research, peer-learning networks, and technical assistance, such as through Urban-Greater DC, National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership, and Promise Neighborhoods. We also conduct program evaluations and document best practices related to community-driven change, including the community use of data.
