The Part-Time Job Fair is coming up next week!

A reminder that the Part-Time Job Fair will take place on Wednesday, January 29th from 2pm to 5pm in the Richmond Salons on the 2nd floor of the Student Commons.  Come learn about part-time and hourly opportunities, both on-campus and off-campus around RVA! This is a great time to see what opportunities are available, and how you can gain hands-on experience while you are in school.

Registration is not required and is available through Handshake.  Or, feel free to check in at the door - no student will be turned away!

Henrico Jailors Academy Lobby Chat - January 27th!

Stop by the Raleigh Building lobby on January 27th between 1:30 and 3:30 to grab a snack and learn about the Henrico Summer Basic Jailor Academy program.  The Wilder School Office of Student Success and the Henrico County Sheriff's office will be available to share information about the program.

Considering a career in policy but aren't sure of the best path to reach your goals? Join School of Social Work & the Wilder School for a panel discussion with professionals in the field to answer your questions.

Panelists include VCU alumni with the following degrees:

  • Master of Social Work, concentration in administration, planning, and policy practice
  • Master of Public Administration

There will be a Q&A session and opportunity to connect with panelists and representation from the School of Social Work and Wilder School after the event.

Call For Graduate Student Mentors!

The Graduate School is pleased to announce a call for applications to the 2020-2021 Graduate School Mentorship Program (GSMP). The GSMP matches undergraduate and graduate students in mentoring relationships in to expose undergraduate students to the graduate school experience and to provide graduate students with the opportunity to develop mentoring skills as they share their own personal experiences with the undergraduate students in the program. Students are matched based on areas of academic discipline and/or interest. Students interested in being matched with a specific student must both indicate this preference on their applications.

Brookings Summer 2020 Internship Program

The Brookings Internship program provides an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds to engage in career exploration and development as well as a chance to learn new skills.

The mission of the Internship program is to provide students and recent graduates with a pre-professional, meaningful, and practical work experience related to the student’s field of study or career interest.  Interns may work with Brookings’s staff in research areas - Economic Studies, Foreign Policy, Global Economy and Development, Governance Studies, and Metropolitan Policy.  Brookings also offers students the opportunity to intern in departments such as communications, human resources and central operations management.
