Virginia Department of Social Services Office of Newcomer Services Intern

The Virginia Department of Social Services Office of Newcomer Services is seeking two unpaid interns. This position will assist the Director with the development of a new sub-office within their unit called the Office of New Americans, which will provide resources to newly arrived immigrants in Virginia.  Refugees, asylees, trafficking victims, and Special Immigrant Visa holders are the other main populations they serve.

Duties would include research, special projects, and program functions. The person will function as a staff member. The internships would start in the fall but could continue for an entire academic year if the applicants are so inclined. It would be located at 801 E. Main St. if their work resumes in that physical location. Currently, the intern would be teleworking only. They would need Internet access.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has an interest in this work and can commit to a full academic year. Graduate and Undergraduate students are eligible to apply.

Environmental Law Institute Development Intern
