VCU Global Education: Education Abroad Policy & Curriculum Integration Intern

The VCU Education Abroad Office is seeking an intern to work remotely for the fall 2020 semester. This intern will need to be enthusiastic, motivated, and an organized self-starter. The Policy & Curriculum Integration Intern position will assist in market and policy research; procedure and policy drafting; international curriculum research and integration with VCU curriculum from various academic departments; international program development; and, provide administrative support to the Education Abroad Office as needed. Possible projects include: revision of major advising sheets, organization and management of course equivalency database and course request form.

Advocacy and Outreach Internship (FWS)

Richmond Public Schools (RPS) and the Office of Engagement (OOE) are seeking a qualified individual to serve as Intern with the Advocacy and Outreach Department. This is a paid, part-time position from May through August 2020, approximately 15-20 hours/week.
Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Create written content about advocacy opportunities, policy/legislative updates, and other subjects for publication on the RPS district website, RPS district social media accounts, and other platforms as needed.
● Planning and implementation of new advocacy trainings and meeting opportunities in a virtual setting.
● Assisting with facilitation of virtual meetings, including small group facilitation, technical setup, note taking, and feedback synthesis.
● Managing email lists and supporting outreach to elected officials and other constituencies. (Political activity will be prohibited in the execution of these responsibilities.)
● Taking photos, creating social media content, and finding other ways to share our story.
● Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Student Trainee (Uniformed Officer Support)

Joining the Secret Service, Office of Chief, Uniformed Division as a Student Trainee (Uniformed Officer Support) will introduce the Uniformed Division Officer position through structured training and hands-on experiential rotational assignments. The Student Trainee (Uniformed Officer Support) position starts at a salary of $28,672 (GS-2, step 1), with promotion potential to $45,652 (GS-4, step 10). The selectee will serve as a Student Trainee (Uniformed Officer Support) in the Office of the Chief, Uniformed Division.  Typical work assignments include:

  • Assist with escorting pre-approved civilians and contractors to pre-determined locations.

  • Assist with managing large groups during public tours and vehicle fleet management.

  • Assist with administrative duties as needed.

The Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) is an elite team of law enforcement professionals who work within TSA to keep America’s transportation systems secure and safe.

Emergency Management Specialists

This position is full time and is responsible for implementing and coordinating the Rappahannock Emergency Management programs and services.

They will serve as the liaison with other federal, state, county, tribal governments and agencies as related to Emergency Management. Coordinate disaster response, crises management activities, provide community preparedness training, develop emergency plans and procedures manual and represent the Tribe

In local and national trainings and conferences. Required: Must have successful experience and proof of training in Emergency Management. 

Salary consummate with experience.
