Join the Wilder School for a virtual presentation by D. Pulane Lucas, (Ph.D.’13, Cert.’18), president and CEO of Policy Pathways Inc., who will discuss her groundbreaking project to document deaths while a person is in custody — in prison, detained, under arrest, in the process of being arrested or en route to being incarcerated or hospitalized.

About the speaker
As the founding president and CEO of Policy Pathways Inc., D. Pulane Lucas, Ph.D., merged her academic and research interests in public policy with her passion for youth leadership development and her commitment to equitable access to high-quality policy education. Policy Pathways recently launched “Uncounted,” a national, civilian-led and civilian-reported database for collecting information on in-custody deaths in the U.S. She is a Harvard Business School-trained administrator, educator, researcher and policy analyst and has written books, case studies, articles and reports.
She also founded D. Pulane Lucas & Co., a public policy and research consulting firm, and is an associate professor (adjunct) in the School of Business at Reynolds Community College. A graduate of Harvard Divinity School, she is the visionary behind the school’s renowned Summer Leadership Institute for faith-based community and economic development practitioners. She is a member of the 2019 Class of Leadership Metro Richmond and the Commonwealth (VA) Chapter of The Links Inc.
