The L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University continues to demonstrate strong national standing, ranking among the nation’s leading public affairs programs, with multiple specialties recognized among the country’s top programs in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.
The school’s homeland security and emergency management program is ranked No. 8 in the nation, placing it among the top 10 programs nationally. Additional specialty rankings reflect the school’s strength across core public affairs disciplines:
- No. 8 – Homeland Security and Emergency Management
- No. 21 – Local Government Management
- No. 22 – Social Policy
- No. 25 – Public Management and Leadership
Collectively, these rankings demonstrate the breadth and impact of the Wilder School’s academic programs and its continued recognition across key areas of public affairs. The school is one of the few programs in Virginia represented across multiple specialty areas.
