BIOGRAPHY AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Rita Crawford has dedicated over 25 years of her career across many roles within human resources fields including: higher education, private sector and state and government agencies. Before joining VCU, Rita was an employment specialist at Virginia State University and consulted administration, faculty and staff in employment, benefits, leave and a host of other policies and procedures.

Her accomplishments include:

•  2022 - nominated as Staff Employee of the Month (VSU)
•  2021 - certified in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP)
•  2019 - received the Life-Saving Award
•  2019 - published author on Amazon of four fiction books – three children’s books and one mature-themed book

Rita enjoys traveling, shopping, hobbies such as photography, art, crafts, dining out and socializing with loved ones. Most importantly, Rita loves being a mother of her two adult sons, Anthony and Carmello.
