The Class of 2023 joins the ranks of more than 12,000 Wilder School alumni.

On Saturday, the Wilder School welcomed more than 250 graduates to our alumni ranks of 12,000 and counting. Governor Wilder delivered the keynote speech which prompted graduates with the charge to take on leadership for the public good, no matter their professional roles. Undergraduate Abby Houchin and graduate student Alexia Brown delivered riveting speeches to their classmates. Thank you to our event supporters for making this momentous event a success for the newest members of the Wilder School family.

“You guys should be no strangers to hard work, or you wouldn’t be here in these seats right now.”  – Mo Alie-Cox

Wilder School graduate Mo Alie-Cox also delivered the university-wide commencement ceremony keynote address. Alie-Cox majored in Criminal Justice at the Wilder School, while also making a name for himself on the court as a VCU basketball player. After graduating, Alie-Cox joined the NFL playing for the Indianapolis Colts. His years of professional sports taught him the nature of hard work and perseverance, which he imparted to the graduating class of 2023.
