The Center for Urban and Regional Analysis at VCU’s L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs is partnering with the Urban Land Institute’s local chapter to provide a comprehensive look at development in the region.

“We are delighted to be working with ULI and with other community stakeholders on this important issue,” said John Accordino, director of CURA@VCU and professor of urban and regional planning. “Through our Metro View project, CURA is tracking land use, economic development and many other issues at the level of the Richmond MSA so that political and economic decision makers can take a ‘metro view’ of these important issues.”

The online geographic information system will allow people to view ongoing development projects, zoning standards and land use across the region through a central site beginning in September, according to the ULI.

CURA is the Wilder School’s community economic development consulting division. It specializes in urban and regional economic development policy analysis, evaluation and strategic planning to aid town, city and state governments; businesses; and nonprofits.

ULI’s Richmond and Hampton Roads chapters recently announced that they are combining to form ULI Virginia.
