Susan ‘Su’ Williams, the Wilder School’s Senior Finance Manager, is set to retire at the end of March 2020. Williams has worked for Virginia Commonwealth University for an amazing 43 years in various roles and departments. She has spent the last twelve of those years with the Wilder School reaching outstanding goals and accomplishing tremendous work.

Williams’ career at VCU included working in the following departments and schools:

  • Associated Physicians
  • General Accounting
  • The Dean's Office at the College of Humanities & Sciences
  • Richard T. Robertson School of Mediaand Culture
  • Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs

“Reflecting on 43 years at VCU, I am reminded of a lifetime of change. Buildings demolished and replaced with new, paper processes replaced by electronic processes, technology advancing everything from snail mail to surgeries, but one constant remains, the VCU community is one of a kind,” reflected Williams. “VCU is ever changing, yet still the same. A community I will miss interacting with on a daily basis.”

Join our Wilder School colleagues and many others around the university as we plan to celebrate and thank Su Williams for all of her many contributions and wish her the best for the future on May 4, 2020 at the Student Commons from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

More event details to come.
