What is the role of transit in shaping equity for individuals and communities? What are Richmond’s top transit priorities and how can major employers like Virginia Commonwealth University use public transit to connect their strategic efforts to improve economic, educational, social and health outcomes for surrounding communities? Join Joe Dillard, Jr., Director of Equitable Innovation and Legislative Policy at the Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC), for a lively exploration of these and other topics. Dillard will also talk about Zero Fare and the changing role of localities in addressing transportation inequality. The discussion will be followed by a brief session for audience questions. Nakeina Douglas-Glenn, Ph.D., interim director of the Research Institute for Social Equity (RISE) and director of the Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute, will serve as session moderator.
